ABOUT THE COMPANY

The exact definition of a windfall is the fruit that was blown down by the wind from a tree or a bush. It is also a piece of unexpected fortune. For us at Windfall Safaris, we believe that our national parks are a blessing, a benediction and a felicity of the environment and for our country. Therefore, it is a pleasure for us to show you the best of what our country has to offer. We also want to make sure that we do our work in the most respectful way for the environment and the communities that inhabit these environments. We strive to change behaviours about waste disposal and we always choose environmental friendly lodges and hotels as much as possible.

MEET THE TEAM

Emmanuel Hagai KissilaDirector
Born of Maasai tribe, is a naturalist by heart and a young and professional Tanzanian Safari Tour Guide with passion. Emmanuel has over 10 years of experience, with a specialization in the Northern and Southern Parks of Tanzania – although he has expertise on East Africa’s parks as a whole. He graduated with a degree in Business Management and Tour guide from one of the best schools in Kenya. His passion for nature, his drive for high quality customer service and his educational knowledge has naturally driven him to create his Safari Tour Company two years ago. Emmanuel has accumulated a wealth of knowledge, practical skills and know-how during his years of experience. In addition to reading books on wildlife and more specifically birdlife and watching tons of Natural Geographic documentaries, Emmanuel’s hobbies include attending his vegetable garden and spending time in the garage supervising the check up of his vehicles.
Our guides go through several rounds of interviews and intense training, both at school and in the field with Emmanuel, to make sure we provide professional customer care with valuable wildlife knowledge.

RESPONSIBLE TOURISM

As the company grows, we try to implement further environmental friendly initiatives.

Safaris as a whole are essential to conservation efforts and support the local economy. By just visiting reserves and natural parks you are contributing to the conservation of landscapes and African Wildlife through your daily entrance fees. Additionally, as much as possible, we try to find the best provider locally for just about everything: picnic lunch, mechanics, marketing collaterals, website designer, etc.

Sustainable accommodations allow you to enjoy high quality and comfortable accommodation that is also sustainable. We partner with lodges and tented camps that are either eco-built, support local communities and promote sustainability in their activities. There is a specific Lodging Company that we often work with that has banned plastic bottles from all their premises, including their offices.

Any element or item used during a safari, such as food, water, knowledge, is used as much as possible in an environmentally friendly manner. We moved away from lunch boxes and decided to invest in canvas-made baskets, ceramic plates, cutlery, and containers to provide high quality and environmental friendly picnic lunch to our guests. Our next challenge is to provide safe drinkable water to our guests without using the plastic water bottles. However, for now, we collect all the plastic bottles and give them to a company that transforms the plastic and creates beautiful furniture with it, that you can often find in those same lodges and tented camps where you stay overnight during the trip.

Crafts & shopping are wonderful ways of keeping the local economy while bringing some of the beauty of Africa back home and also provide for talented and creative locals and their families. We can recommend your local artisans and shops.
