Arusha serves as the gateway to Tanzania’s most remarkable safari destinations, providing convenient access to a diverse range of national parks and conservation areas. Just a short drive away lies Arusha National Park, known for its dramatic Mount Meru backdrop, diverse habitats, and walking safari opportunities.Tarangire National Park is celebrated for its impressive elephant herds, striking baobab landscapes, and high wildlife concentrations all throughout the year, while Lake Manyara National Park offers lush forests, flamingo-filled shores, and the famously tree-climbing lions. The world-renowned Serengeti National Park delivers vast savannahs, extraordinary predator sightings, and the iconic Great Migration, complemented by the nearby Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a volcanic caldera teeming with wildlife including the Big Five.
To the south of Tanzania, Ruaha National Park and Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous) offer vast, remote wilderness areas where boat safaris, walking safaris, and minimal visitor traffic create an especially immersive safari experience. Other notable destinations include Mikumi National Park, known for its accessible wildlife viewing and open savannah plains; Katavi National Park, one of the country’s most untouched and wildlife-rich parks; and Mahale Mountains National Park, renowned for chimpanzee tracking along the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Together, these parks and conservation areas showcase Tanzania’s remarkable diversity, offering both iconic and lesser-visited safari experiences across the country. These southern destinations involve longer travel routes, more detailed logistical arrangements, as well as the fact that they are not accessible all year round, making them particularly well suited to carefully planned itineraries.
With all the experiences we have on offer we aim to try and keep up with our mission for sustainable travel. Below are some ways we try to do so.
Whether guests choose our premium reusable canvas picnic setup or our classic option, we ensure every bush dining experience is low-impact — partnering with a local Arusha supplier for fully biodegradable packaging.
To eliminate single-use plastics, we provide each guest with a personalised reusable metal water bottle and refill from large 6L containers, using just one or two per safari. The collected containers are recycled locally into handcrafted furniture — pieces of which you’ll find in the lodges and camps along your journey.
From the communities we work with to the wild spaces we explore, we are committed to supporting local initiatives that both protect Tanzania’s wildlife but also initiatives that empower and support the local community.
We actively recommend trusted local artisans and shops, so every purchase supports talented craftspeople and their communities while bringing a piece of Africa’s beauty home.
We partner as much as possible with environmentally conscious lodges, ensuring every night of your stay supports properties committed to reducing their footprint and preserving the ecosystems around them.
