Supporting Menstrual Health with Hedhi Huru
As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility commitment, we have partnered with Hedhi Huru, a Tanzanian menstrual health initiative that produces and distributes reusable menstrual kits to girls in government schools and marginalized communities.
In Tanzania, many girls miss school due to lack of access to menstrual materials. According to UNICEF, over 40% of girls are affected, with stigma and embarrassment further limiting education and confidence.
Hedhi Huru tackles this challenge through menstrual health education and the provision of reusable, long-lasting menstrual kits, helping girls stay in school while reducing environmental waste.
Each kit lasts up to three years and enables a girl to attend up to 100 additional school days per year, while reducing reliance on disposable, plastic-based sanitary products.
How You Can Help
Each Hedhi Huru kit costs TZS 50,000 to produce and distribute. Travellers can support this initiative through the following options:
- 3 kits – USD 60 / EUR 55
- 5 kits – USD 100 / EUR 95
- 10 kits – USD 200 / EUR 185
100% of donations go directly to Hedhi Huru. Donors may also receive a personalised thank-you email upon request.
